How to Banish it – This is easy. Just follow the list of the things that BlaBlaBla absolutely hates!

This little Internet Demon is insidious, pernicious, ignominious, supercilious, obfuscatory, legalistic and simply out to confuse you.

He loves to use words that are long, complicated and designed (or not) to ‘cover the back’ of the writer. He just HATES the following things that make websites clear, easy and simple to follow:

• Lists
• Documents that are clear and simple
• Sentences - short and simple
• Active language like ‘Please fill out this form’
• Ownership words like you/we/your/our
• No jargon, or old fashioned language
• Positive language – not negative like ‘don’t’
• Writing in a conversational style.
